Students have the opportunity to learn a wide range of instruments through the School. We are fortunate to have excellent specialist teachers providing these lessons. Over 200 students take up this opportunity to learn an instrument within the school instrumental programme and this enables them to learn skills to perform in music groups within the school. Weekly group music lessons are held during school hours, lunchtimes and after school. Tuition is available to all students.
Lessons are available on the following instruments:
- Keyboard, Vocal, Drums
- Strings Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass, Guitar, Bass guitar
- Woodwind Instruments: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone
- Brass Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Horn
To register your interest in learning a musical instrument, please email the Performing Arts Co-ordinator, Ms Jo Cullen at music@nghs.school.nz.
Information will be sent out to all parents at the beginning of Term 1 regarding registration for all instrumental lessons.
