Ad Lucem – Towards The Light – Ki te Mārama

Napier Girls’ High School opened on January 29, 1884 with 39 pupils and one boarder. Miss M.E Hewett was the founding principal. The original school course included English, French, Latin, German, Drawing, Singing and Callisthenics.

Today, Napier Girls’ High School has a roll of about 1,000 students. It has a strong tradition of successfully educating young people, as well as national success in many sporting and cultural activities.
